VIQU’s Matthew Hill Shortlisted By British Recruitment Awards

I am thrilled to announce that our colleague Matthew Hill has been shortlisted as a finalist for ‘Rising Star of the Year (Agency)’ by the British Recruitment Awards.

With a range of categories including ‘Best Place to Work in Recruitment’, ‘Diversity & Inclusion Initiative of the Year’ and ‘Leader of the Year’, the British Recruitment Awards 2023 sets out to discover and celebrate the individuals and teams that are truly passionate about the role recruitment plays in building thriving organisations.

This year, 225+ entries were received from organisations across the UK, and I am very proud to say that our submission for Matthew was one of the select few to be considered worthy of being shortlisted.

With Matthew’s previous experience in South African-based recruitment, he joined VIQU with next to no understanding of UK employment law. Yet, the knowledge he initially lacked was superseded by his shining positivity, enthusiasm, and passion for recruitment. Matthew is a great rapport builder and has used this ability to grow relationships with some fantastic local businesses. The strong impact Matthew has had on VIQU’s Southampton team and clients in the 14 months he’s been with the business made him an obvious choice to put forward for ‘Rising Star of the Year’.

With huge levels of drive and motivation to reach his personal goals, it’s great to see Matthew putting those plans in place and reaping the rewards of his hard work. I know his clients, candidates and the VIQU team will join me in wishing Matthew the very best of luck at the British Recruitment Awards event in November.

“It is surreal to think that just over a year ago, I was sitting in South Africa wondering what my recruitment career in the UK would look like. Just 14 months later, I’m a British Recruitment Awards finalist! VIQU has been pivotal in my success over the past year. Thanks to Matt and the team for putting their trust in me and for allowing me the autonomy to learn, develop and pursue excellence in everything I set out to achieve.” – Matthew Hill
