I am delighted to announce VIQU’s win at the Recruiter Investing in Talent Awards 2020.
Being named ‘Best Recruitment Team of the Year’ by Recruiter is not only incredibly flattering but a fantastic acknowledgement of the hard work and dedication our recruitment team displayed during one of the most difficult years the business has ever experienced.
When the first UK lockdown was introduced in mid-March, our team created the NHS Volunteer Initiative – an innovative way to support NHS Trusts and their IT departments across the UK during the pandemic.
We did this by introducing out-of-work IT professionals to IT departments within NHS Trusts who were being overwhelmed with setting up the infrastructure to allow remote working and providing the necessary training associated with it. Additionally, these Trusts still needed to continue with their current projects and deployment goals. We hoped that offering volunteer support would alleviate some of these pressures for the Trusts and provide the IT professionals with fantastic NHS experience.
As of October 2020, we have worked with 40+ Trusts and other blue light organisations, and placed over 250 talented IT volunteers. The high standard of IT volunteers we provided, has led to 45% of voluntary placements being converted into paid contracts/permanent employment.
Creating the initiative not only helped the NHS and out-of-work IT professionals, but also our recruitment team, who needed something positive to focus on during a very stressful time.
Recruiter Investing in Talent Awards 2020 Judges’ Comments: “VIQU’s efforts in its Covid-19 IT professionals volunteer initiative gave a great example of creating a culture of teamwork and collaboration.”
