VIQU Wins ‘Best Small Recruitment Business’ At The Global Recruiter Awards 2021

IT recruitment agency

I am very proud to announce VIQU’s win at last week’s Global Recruiter Industry Awards 2021. We’re a small IT recruitment agency based in Birmingham and Southampton, yet we illustrated hard work and perseverance over the past 18 months, and I’m very grateful to the judges for recognising and awarding our team’s determination and spirit.

Last Thursday, I took a trip down to London with VIQU’s Director Mike McEvoy and our Marketing Manager Rebecca Davis. We were very pleased to be finalists for the ‘Best Small Recruitment Business’ award, yet, we had little confidence in our chances of winning after seeing the high-quality recruitment agencies we were up against.

Nevertheless, we were excited to attend an in-person event, instead of the virtual versions we had become accustomed to over the last couple of years. The Global Recruiter Awards had clearly put a lot of effort into the event at East Wintergarden in Canary Wharf, which made the experience even more special.

We had the opportunity to hear about some of the incredible work performed by other recruitment agencies during the pandemic before our category ‘Best Small Recruitment Business’ was announced. The awards host described some of the reasons why the judges picked this winner, and we quickly realised that VIQU was the winner!

I was incredibly proud to go up on stage and collect the award on behalf of the entire VIQU team, and as you’d expect, everyone was thrilled when they heard the news.

VIQU’s judges’ comments:

“Growth of almost 70% in revenue when 77% of your clients stopped recruiting would be impressive.

To do this alongside founding the NHS Volunteer initiative to support the NHS in setting up the infrastructure and training to enable remote working and in the process saving the NHS approx. £1.95 million – is an unbelievable achievement.

This is a solid business which looks after all of its stakeholders and invests in each community it serves – well done.”
