VIQU IT Shortlisted As A Finalist In Two Recruiter Awards

We are very proud to announce that both VIQU IT and our Managing Director Matt Collingwood have been shortlisted for 2 prestigious awards by the 2025 Recruiter Awards.
The two categories include:
- “Best ESG Business Strategy”
- “Recruitment Industry Entrepreneur of the Year” for Matt Collingwood
The Recruiter Awards were established in 2002 and aim to recognise excellent achievements made by recruitment teams and individual recruiters in the industry. With 30 categories, the Recruiter Awards aims to shine a light on outstanding achievements across the recruitment industry. As finalists, we are so pleased to be part of this year’s celebrations!
Best ESG Business Strategy
We are honoured that our actions as part of the Support the Goals initiative were recognised by the Recruiter Awards judging panel and that we have been picked as a finalist in the “Best ESG Business Strategy” award as a result.
The judges were looking for examples from recruitment businesses of committed efforts and proven impact around their ESG directives. As part of our application, we highlighted our work alongside the Support the Goals initiative.
Over the past few years, we have set ourselves targets focusing on two UN Sustainable Development Goals – Climate Action and Zero Hunger.
Our aims included achieving Carbon Net Zero by the end of 2022, being Carbon Negative by the end of 2023, and then producing our own renewable energy by the end of 2024 through the installation of solar panels on our office building’s roof. For 2025 and beyond, we are in the process of conducting an assessment of our local biodiversity and wildlife population around our office, so that we can install bug hotels and enforce other measures that are tailored to our immediate surrounding environment.
In addition to this, we have been fundraising and donating to food banks in our local city of Birmingham each year since 2022 to contribute to our Zero Hunger goals. Each year we have increased our donations by 150% and have committed to contributing a portion of the savings made from producing our own energy, to increasing our donations further.
Key members of our team who actively champion and lead our ESG initiatives are looking forward to attending the ceremony and learning from other businesses that have also been excelling in this area.
Recruitment Industry Entrepreneur Of The Year
We are very proud to say that our Managing Director, Matt Collingwood, has been selected as a finalist by the judging panel for the “Recruitment Industry Entrepreneur of the Year” award.
Following a highly successful business year in 2022, Matt began to explore options to grow and futureproof VIQU IT. This led to investments in two new start-up businesses, Morela & MoveATech, building behind experienced recruiters ready to take the next steps in their careers. Additionally, through an M&A process, an existing recruitment business with significant potential for growth within the utility and energy sector, Consult Energy, was acquired. These business investments led to the formation of the VIQU Group.
In these efforts, Matt has been motivated not just by growth generation across the new VIQU Group, but also in developing great leaders into business owners and recruitment leaders. We are so pleased that the judging panel has recognised this and has selected Matt as a finalist in this award.
