Senior Network Engineer

Senior Network Engineer – Biggin Hill – contract duration till the end of the year – Inside IR35 - £500 - £540p/d

We’re currently recruiting for a Senior Network Engineer for a well-known establishment based in Biggen Hill. This is an onsite role providing BAU support for their office in Biggen Hill.

You will also be tasked with knowledge sharing and upskilling those around you. Project managing changes to the Network Infrastructure, where necessary, and handling high level BAU escalations

Your role will be to support and ensure that the Network Infrastructure meets ongoing business objectives. This is a fast-paced, high pressure environment where high level interaction and troubleshooting is required.

This is a contract till the end of the year with the possibility of extension. The role is a Senior Network Engineer, and the role is Inside IR35, the successful contractor will be onsite 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Network Engineer

• Provide and maintain a secure IT network environment
• Troubleshooting BAU network escalations and tickets
• To liaise with suppliers and manufacturers for equipment purchase, maintenance and upgrades
• Stay on top of new technologies and looks for streamlining and improving current systems and security. Implement and project managing change plans
  • Network switching, routing, firewalls and Wi-Fi
  • Produce reports and root cause analysis reports when necessary to senior management
  • To provide and maintain an adequate IT Network Infrastructure disaster recovery plan
  • To ensure that data and configurations are archived according to procedures
  • Customer / end user service orientated attitude

Essential Experience required of a Senior Network Engineer in this role:

• CCNA and CCNP certifications is required
• Proven track record as a Senior Network Engineer
• Min 8 years of experience in delivering and supporting networks in a large enterprise environment (800+ users & multiple servers).
• Proven track record working in a fast paced environment
• Proven track record delivering projects from concept to delivery and driving change management
• They will require knowledge and experience in the majority of the below and have technical responsibilities in a largely Cisco-based infrastructure, including:
  • Cisco environment and products
  • Microsoft Azure Networking
  • Network Design
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) Networking
  • Juniper / Cisco / Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Routers & Switches
  • Load Balancers
  • VPN / Remote Access technologies
  • WAN / connectivity
  • Network Analysis and monitoring
  • Colocation provisioning
  • Power, UPS and Wiring
  • Excellent communication skills required
