SQL DBA – 6-Month Contract - £450 - £550 p/d (Inside IR35) – Security Clearance Required

Job Overview

I am seeking a skilled SQL DBA (Database Administrator) to join my client’s dynamic database team on a 6-month contract.

As a SQL DBA, you will play a key role in ongoing projects, independently managing tasks, making informed decisions, and working closely with the team. The position involves the installation, migration, and support of Legacy software and BI stacks across the business.

Key Responsibilities of the SQL DBA:

• Must have current or recently expired SC (Security Clearance).
• Design and develop reliable SQL and database solutions.
• Lead the migration of BI stacks from older versions (such as SQL Server 2008 R2 and 2012) to newer ones (SQL Server 2016/2019).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Visual Studio, and SQL Server Management Studio.
• Improve performance by optimizing BI-related code and analyzing SQL queries.
• Oversee and participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Support the entire data lifecycle in an agile environment.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members as needed.
• Familiarity with tools like Terraform, Git, and PowerShell is advantageous.

This role is based in central London, and the SQL DBA will need to be on-site for two days per week.
