After being let down by their previous recruitment agency, the customer was looking to engage a new recruitment agency to fill the niche role that they were finding it challenging to recruit for.
The client's challenge...
A customer of an MSP we were partnered with was struggling to recruit professionals with the right combination of skills and experiences to work onsite at their remote office location. They had previously worked with another recruitment agency that had presented them with 20+ candidates who had all been interviewed and rejected as unsuitable. The customer later found out that this was because the previous agency wasn’t screening or thoroughly vetting the candidates effectively. This had wasted a lot of time and meant that the customer’s requirements were now more urgent, and they couldn’t face another long-winded recruitment process.
We knew we had the capabilities and the experience to really add value to this customer and build a trusted relationship with them. After presenting our experience in hiring specialist talent at speed and plans on how we would deliver new candidates and support the onboarding of the chosen individual at pace, the customer was happy to engage our services.
The role in particular was a challenging one to fulfil as it was an onsite role in a very remote location with a niche skillset, but our thorough research and analysis ensured we placed the right resources behind this search to secure a great professional for the role.

Our actions...
- Used our market insights and knowledge to place paid ads on the right platforms and sites that maximised our chances of reaching the right professionals
- To ensure all candidates were suitable, we set up video calls with all potential candidates to vet their experience and sent the recordings to the customer for interview selection and feedback
- Having seen the video recordings, the customer was able to identify and be confident in which candidates to proceed with
- Arranged an interview day with all the chosen candidates onsite. This action reduced the amount of time the customer had to spend on interviewing and sped up the whole process to the job offer stage within 4 weeks

The outcomes...
Whilst this process was time intensive for us, it reduced the pressure on the customer and allowed them to regain some of the time previously wasted. The process sped up time to hire significantly, with the interview to offer ratio reducing from 7 interviews to 3. As a result, VIQU IT are now engaged as their recruitment supplier of choice.
We have developed a strong relationship with this customer and since that initial hire, we have successfully hired for 5 additional roles, using the existing successful process. For each of these 6 roles, we have been able to attract and hire niche professionals to the remote location within 4 weeks, from start to job offer, allowing for the customer to fill the roles they need at pace.
