Desktop Support Engineer
Trade Floor Support Engineer – 3-month contract – London
My Customer is seeking a Trade Floor Support Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting high-performance users, including Traders and VIPs, in a high-pressure financial services setting.
As a key member of the IT support team, you will provide hands-on desktop support up to 2nd line for our Trade Floor operations. Your focus will be on ensuring seamless technology performance across departments that are critical to business success. You’ll need a keen eye for prioritisation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure with professionalism and urgency.
The Trade Floor Support Engineer is required onsite 5 days a week in Victoria, London
Key Responsibilities of the Trade Floor Support Engineer
- Provide 1st and 2nd line desktop support to traders, front-office staff, and VIP users
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and bespoke application issues efficiently
- Manage and resolve incidents using service desk tools (Avanti preferred, ServiceNow and others acceptable)
- Support Microsoft 365 environment and related technologies
- Provide meeting room and AV support to ensure high service availability
- Support and deploy desktops, laptops, and mobile devices using tools like Intune
- Work collaboratively with other IT teams to escalate and resolve complex issues
- Maintain a high level of customer service and timely communication throughout issue resolution
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience in a trading floor or high-pressure financial environment
- Strong technical troubleshooting across Windows, Microsoft 365, and end-user devices
- Familiarity with bespoke trading applications such as Bloomberg
- Experience with mobile device management (preferably Microsoft Intune)
- Proficiency with service desk tools (Avanti, ServiceNow, etc.)
- Understanding of business priorities and ability to triage support based on impact and urgency
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to support high-profile users
The Trade Floor Support Engineer is required to be onsite in Victoria, London 5 days a week.
