Helping an ISP with no talent team and limited internal capabilities, to create a reliable recruitment process that has aided the company to grow their business and cultivate a strong team culture.

The client's challenge...

A fast-growing IT specialist provider, that did not have a standardised recruitment process, required help building one that worked for their needs.

The company had previously relied on hiring managers to drive the recruitment process for the positions they had available in their respective teams; however, the company ran into difficulties when the hiring managers had very different approaches to recruitment. These differing opinions and approaches included how interviews were being conducted (remote or in-person), the number of interview stages and whether to use technical assessments or not. The method would change per manager and would not be role-dependent, but based on each manager’s opinion. This meant that they had an incohesive employer brand across the business, making it increasingly challenging as they started to scale and grow the business.

The client wanted to outsource their recruitment to one specialist IT recruitment agency that could create a standardised tailored service for them and their requirements, rather than relying on hiring managers. The organisation also expressed interest in hiring for cultural fit, as they wanted to grow the business and have long-term employees to further drive and cultivate company culture.

We had an established relationship with their commercial director whom we had successfully worked on multiple roles with whilst they were with their previous employer. Due to this trusted relationship, this individual knew we were able to provide tailored high-quality services for organisations like theirs, and so they approached us to explore ways in which we could support them.

Our actions...

  • Liaised closely with each hiring manager and all stakeholders to agree on their priorities for hiring and to understand more about their company goals and their aspirations to nurture their internal culture, along with their need to secure the right professionals to grow the business.
  • Worked with the management team on weekly and monthly calls to tailor a process for them that everyone was happy with, which prioritised securing talent with the right attitude and cultural fit.
  • Advised on employee value propositions and their salary and benefits package, based on our expert market insights, in order to help the organisation attract and retain the right talent.
  • Implemented onboarding processes that set employees up for success and reduced the risk of high employee turnover.
  • Continued to have weekly and monthly calls to update the management team on the progress of the current recruitment process and the pipeline for future hires.

The outcomes...

Due to our success in hiring a number of their key team members, including Service Delivery Managers and Senior Infrastructure Engineers and more, VIQU IT are now their exclusive go-to agency for all tech and IT roles. We have worked with the company for the past 2 years, continuing to optimise and update on the solid successful recruitment process we built for them. In the past 6 months alone, we have hired 11 employees.
